Wayne Pacelle Blinks

Pitbull Puppy Slaughter Campaign puts HSUS on the defensive Did Wayne blink ? Or wince ? Whole lotta butt covering going on at HSUS Turns out the Humane Society of the United States can't throw its weight behind the slaughter of defenseless, un-weaned puppies without hearing from its own constituency. The furor over HSUS's merciless extermination plan for the Wildside Kennels dogs caught some very tender parts of Dogfight Czar John Goodwin--and his boss Wayne Pacelle--in a vise. And then, guess what happened ? Its magic! HSUS's new policy: evaluate dogs before they're killed! Amazing! Five days after the day Wilkes County, NC, bowed to HSUS pressure and killed every single dog seized from Wildside Kennels -- including 60 or more puppies (some born after the seize) -- and 4.99 days after HSUS's shit hit the fan, Wayne Pacelle announces . . .

"an interim policy recommending all dogs be evaluated as individuals. . .[HSUS] is calling a meeting of leading animal welfare organizations concerning dogs victimized by dog fighting."

Wayne was going to do the right thing. Of course he was! Wayne was setting up a conference and everything!

Nevermind what Dogfight Czar Goodwin said : "the dogs have been bred for fighting and it would very difficult and expensive to re-train the dogs, even the puppies. . ."

Nevermind what HSUS's North Carolina Regional Representative, Amanda Arrington, said : "these particular dogs have been bred for aggression." The proper audience response is. . .

Shock and awe

So get with the program. And assume the position.

The magic wand has been waved. Pixie dust is in the air.

Or maybe not.

Will Pit Bull owners and advocates buy into the reformation of HSUS?

I don't know about you, but I'm not about to forget the thousands of helpless dogs that died, and still die each year, because HSUS says they must.

Every shelter dog deserves a fair evaluation. Yes, Biscuit is right.

Does HSUS think their "experts" are up to the task? Cause HSUS brought in an "expert" to look at Pat Patrick's dogs, and we all know how that went.

Kick HSUS the hell out

The Humane Society of the United States needs to get out of the pit bull "rescue" biz.

They have no credibility. They are not "stakeholders" and have no place among the "national stakeholder organizations that deal with pit bulls" that Pacelle says he invited to his little conference. History cannot be rewritten.

Core values won't go away after a kissy-kissy weekend in Vegas.

Wayne Pacelle wants my dog dead.

He wants your dog dead.

Pacelle hired a convicted ALF terrorist, and made the freak his "issues expert" on dogfighting.

He's offering a $5000 bounty for report-a-neighbor "dogfighting" tips.

It doesn't get more irresponsible, more hate-driven, more pathological than that.

Tell ya what, Wayne

Invite Floyd Boudreaux to speak at your little conference. Floyd would likely be the only one in the room with any true expertise on the evaluation, care and handling of high drive, real deal "pit bulls."

Acknowledge the AADR, or the ADBA, or crap, even the UKC, as a "national pit bull stakeholder." Invite them to your Vegas shindig.

Maybe then folks might, just might, believe you aren't still shitting them.

yeah, I'll believe HSUS has turned over a new leaf if they
1) fire Goodwin
2) give some actual cash money to actual pit bull rescues
3) issue a public retraction and apology to all the pit bulls whose deaths they have caused
4) rewrite and send to every shelter in the USA a copy of their new policy along with the RealPitBull Evaluation Guide
and then
4) shut the f*** up

anyone want to give me odds?

OK, let me get this straight. The HSUS didn't change their tune for the Vick dogs when the case broke, they didn't change their tune after Animal Planet exposed them, didn't change their tune after Sports Illustrated exposed them, it took all those things PLUS killing those little babies in North Carolina for there to be enough outcry to get them to budge. Sorry, HSUS all is not forgiven. How many dogs did you sanction executing between now and then? You're a day late and a dollar short. All my charitable donations will remain directed toward my local SPCA. I'm not shifting one dime over to you just because NOW you see the light.

I think that the only way the HSUS can 'redeem' themselves after all of this to step back and leave Pit Bull evaluations to those who know anything about Pit Bulls.

Their policies and guidelines for shelters have done more to open the door for 'dangerous dog laws' than any other group out there.

The HSUS are killers, plain and simple. They should rot in hell.

I have little hope that we'll see any significant change at HSUS in the near future. I expect that this is just another publicity stunt designed to dampen the increasing tide of emotion against HSUS and pump up flagging donations.

There's no changing them. After all, we KNOW that these particular people (i.e. Pacelle, Goodwin et al) have been bred specifically for aggression.

Oh yes I love the wicked witch graphic. May I use it please! It belongs on My Dog My Choice!! In fact it should be printed into signs and posted on bill boards. You really hit the nail on the head with this one and I think it is powerful advertising art!!! Well done. Kick em in the neither regions and hear them squeal. HSUS is a money making machine. They hope they can victimize ....opps, rescue enough animal owners and breeders to bring in another wave of cash so Wayne can buy another supporter.

The "wicked witch" graphic, like the pit bull puppy widget, were donated by the people who created them and should be used freely.

Please use them as often as you can.

Please add a link from our site to your links if you feel good about that. http://www.mydogmychoice.com I'm going to add your link over on ours as well. We'll stand in the breach with you and hold hands. Our group will write letters when asked etc. Thanks for considering us. No need to post this unless you want to. I couldn't find a way to contact you otherwise.

Nice site, Maggie!
I've added "My Dog, My Choice" to the links here.

I think the puppy picture that Frogdog used for her widget did more to incite the firestorm than just about anything. The conjunction of that photo with quotes from HSUS declaring all the dogs irredeemably vicious was ideal. No one could believe that tiny innocent baby was vicious. I hope the poor thing's sacrifice was not in vain.

Stakeholders? 'Pit bulls'?

The day I trust the HSUS is the day I'm officially non compos mentis.

If the villains are so red-hot keen to help 'pit bulls', why are they still differntiating them? Why don't they call them dogs, since that's what they are?

I wonder if I'll get an invitation to this shindig...hmmm. Are you going, BDS?

Let me guess who these 'stakeholders' will be. No, on second thought I'm on vacation in Cali right now and don't want to spoil my fun.

The entire Board of the HSUS needs to get the boot at the next AGM.

I vote for Nathan to head the org. Now, that would be a step in the right direction.

PS,It's me, Caveat, I'm at my dad's place :>)

Here is a page I'm working on http://www.mydogmychoice.com/BSL.html

At any rate help with the ins and outs of BSL would be appreciated.

I think it is about time a total investigation of the H$U$ should be done. IRS,ethics, employees, every nook and cranny and just what they do with their millions. Then make the findings all very public for all to see.
